Improves to 6-1 in past seven
StrawweightUFC
August 24, 2024
Ricci defeated Angela Hill via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Ricci had to work for it, but she managed to emerged with her sixth victory in her past seven bouts. Tabatha pushed a very high pace from the very start, staying in tight against Hill and forcing her up against the fence. She ultimately landed three takedowns on four attempts and picked up at least 59 seconds worth of control time in each of the three rounds, closing with 5:04 overall. In a bout which was dead even from a striking standpoint, Ricci's edge in the grappling department ended up being the difference. Still just 29 years of age, "Baby Shark" is quietly climbing the rankings at 115 pounds.

Ricci is scheduled to compete against Angela Hill in a strawweight fight at UFC Vegas 96 on Aug. 24, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Ricci and Hill have only one loss in each of their last five fights. In the former's case, she got right back on track after a split-decision loss to Lupita Godinez by defeating Tecia Torres the same way.
Gets right back in win column

Ricci defeated Tecia Torres via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in St. Louis.
ANALYSIS
Ricci dropped a split decision to Lupita Godinez in her most recent bout last November, but got the benefit of the doubt here. Ricci's 94-92 edge in total strikes landed was largely negated by the fact Pennington posted a 80-54 edge in significant strikes landed. With the women fighting to nearly even terms of the feet, Ricci landed the only takedown attempt and posted 5:15 worth of control time. It ended up being enough. Barely. The Brazilian improves to 5-1 in her past six bouts.
Will face Tecia Torres
StrawweightUFC
February 22, 2024
Ricci will face Tecia Torres at UFC Vegas 92 on May 11th in a strawweight bout, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Ricci saw her winning streak snapped at four after losing to Lupita Godinez via split decision at UFC 295 on Nov. 11. She might have the upper hand here against Torres due to her opponent's recent inactivity, and Ricci will aim to get back to winning ways in that event.
Winning streak snapped at four
StrawweightUFC
November 11, 2023
Ricci lost to Lupita Godinez via split decision (30-27, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC 295 on Saturday in New York City.
ANALYSIS
Ricci fought well and was plenty competitive, but she certainly did not deserve to win this fight, regardless of what the one judge that gave her every round claimed. There's a case to be made Ricci landed the most damaging blows of the bout, but Godinez was the more active fighter, and optics matter in this sport. It didn't help that Tabatha, who may very well have had an edge in grappling, failed on all six of her takedown attempts. The 28-year-old Brazilian entered having won four in a row, so her roster spot is plenty secure. Ricci will look to rebound her next time out.
